That’s $206,097 spent on each job since 2006 in a state that has been battling multi-BILLION dollar shortfalls in the last several years.
And how about the $9+ Billion recommended cut in teachers’ jobs? $169M pays the salary of 4,048 teachers in Texas. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but in 2011 Austin, Houston, and Dallas combined for 1,442 teacher layoffs because of the budget crisis. Perry’s failed tech fund could have paid their salaries for almost 3 years.
And yes, Perry, this is different than the 2003 shortfall. Much different. And thanks for making taxpayers pay $800k for the security for your failed presidential campaign.
