Hi, My name's Lee. I'm your run of the mill, liberal Texan, sports fanatic that wishes he was a squirrel from time to time. 4th and Short is a window into my opnions on modern sports, observations of the apocalypse, and any random thought that has the pleasure of flying through my head.

Following the meme going around, this is where I played most of my baseball growing up, since this was just about the only place with a ballfield back in my day.  I was never a great athlete, but I remember my best day was a screamer of a line double I hit on first pitch.  It was a double because it hit the first baseman in the face and dropped him instantly, allowing me to trot into second while everyone was still gasping.  No one ever expects that from a short dude that low in the order.  I eventually quit ball because I got tired of being hit by pitches.  I wish someone kept stats on that, because my OBP was probably amazing.
